Machine Operator

About the role

Milliken & Company is a global manufacturing leader focused on materials science, delivering breakthroughs through industry‑leading molecules and sustainable innovations across textile, flooring, chemical and healthcare businesses. The Machine Operator reports to the Hudson Plant Supervisor and operates a set of raschel knitting machines at the Hudson Plant.

Responsibilities

• Regular and predictable attendance
• Operates a set of raschel knitting machines
• Patrols machines to ensure excellent quality
• Repairs yarn breaks
• Maintains a clean work area and observes all safety rules and procedures
• Documents production, quality, and safety
• Takes sample cuts as required
• Performs other related duties as required or directed

Requirements

• Legally authorized to work in the USA
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to operate motorized equipment
• Physical ability to lift 25 lbs, push 250 lbs roll of fabric on cart, pull 50 lbs
• Ability to work three 12‑hour shifts with extensive standing and walking
• Authorized training time: 12‑16 weeks
• Machines, tools and equipment used: ladders, scissors
• Personal protective equipment used: ear plugs, steel‑toe safety shoes, safety glasses
• High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Manufacturing experience (preferred)
• Textile knitting experience (preferred)
• Physical requirements (frequency): Standing 95% of day, Sitting 5% of day, Moving 50% of day, Lifting up to 25 lbs 10% of day, Ascending/Descending stairs 35% of day, Push/Pull/Reach (fabric rolls, A‑frames ≈1500 lbs) 35% of day, Bending 15% of day, Visual acuity 100% of day, Cognitive alertness 100% of day
