About the Role
Hyperion Solutions is seeking an experienced Machine Operator for our Los Angeles, CA location, supporting our EECO brand. This position plays an integral part on the team by assisting in our goal to build high-quality elevator components.
Responsibilities
- Operate multiple types of production machines (e.g., press, mill, lathe, or CNC systems) independently.
- Interpret blueprints, production drawings, and part specifications to ensure conformance.
- Perform complete machining cycles including setup, operation, inspection, and documentation.
- Monitor machine performance, make necessary adjustments, and ensure throughput meets expectations.
- Perform intermediate-level setups, changeovers, and calibration of equipment.
- Conduct tool inspections and replace worn or damaged tools as necessary.
- Maintain accurate logs of production, maintenance, and tool usage.
- Identify opportunities to improve machine uptime and recommend efficiency improvements.
- Conduct in-process and final inspections using precision instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.).
- Identify nonconforming materials and work with Quality or Engineering to resolve issues.
- Ensure work meets all dimensional and visual inspection standards.
- Participate in problem-solving or corrective action discussions as required.
- Follow all safety procedures and ensure that tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area that aligns with 5S standards.
- Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and near misses immediately.
- Support company safety programs and lead by example for Level 1 operators.
- Communicate production status, quality issues, or delays promptly to leadership.
- Collaborate with peers across shifts to maintain consistency in production flow.
- Participate in team huddles and improvement meetings.
- Identify and suggest process or workflow improvements that enhance efficiency or quality.
- Contribute to lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action planning for production issues.
- Maintain a focus on minimizing scrap and rework.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 2-4 years of machine operation experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools and documentation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to safely use and lift equipment weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Prompt and regular attendance required.
