About the role
This position is responsible for all poles and processes associated with HMI operations, Veil applications, Resin mixes; including but not limited to prepping, coating, and pigment. The Machine Operator plays a critical role in the Safety, Quality, and Efficiency of Filament Winding operations. The Operator will also assist in other areas of the department and/or manufacturing plant as needed.
Schedule
- Days: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Nights: Monday–Thursday, 4:00 PM–2:30 AM $3.00/hour shift differential
- Weekend Days: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 AM–6:30 PM $2.00/hour shift differential
- Weekend Nights: Friday–Sunday, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM $3.00/hour shift differential
Pay
GEOTEK’s compensation model is skill-based. Starting pay levels are determined by previous experience and transferable skills:
- Level 1: $22.50
- Level 2: $23.18 – $24.50
- Level 3: $25.50 – $26.50
- Level 4: $27.30 – $28.50
Hiring manager will determine pay level based on experience, skillset, and knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Monitors all chemical levels & inventory for MVP systems
- Operates HMI controls
- Performs Veil applications and coating
- Handles and prepares chemicals for operations
- Follows work instructions & procedures
- Assists in all areas of Filament Winding and other plant areas as production demands
- Provides support in repaints for repairs
- Identifies problems and reports issues to team leaders
- Uses overhead cranes to move products and parts
- Documents and submits all required paperwork
Requirements
- Attention to detail
- Ability to read and write in English
- Ability to measure in grams/kilos
- Previous chemical mixing or coating experience (preferred)
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
- Strong emphasis on Safety, Quality, and Productivity
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
Physical Work Conditions
- Located on the production floor, standing for up to 10 hours a day
- Work with or around power tools and chemicals
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds occasionally
