Machine Operator

Georgia-Pacific is seeking safety-oriented Machine Operators to join our team in Milford, NJ. This role offers competitive pay starting at $24.25 per hour, with shift differentials of $1.50 for 2nd shift and $2.00 for 3rd shift. Compensation can increase based on skills and contributions, including eligibility for a Performance Pay program offering up to a 6% quarterly bonus.

Schedule

Currently hiring for 2nd and 3rd shifts. Orientation will be on 1st shift (7am-3pm), with permanent shift assignment approximately 30 days later. Overtime, holidays, and weekends may be required. Milford operates on a point-based attendance program.

• 1st shift: Monday – Friday 7am-3pm; weekends and overtime as needed
• 2nd shift: Monday – Friday 3pm-11pm; weekends and overtime as needed
• 3rd shift: Monday – Friday 11pm-7am; weekends and overtime as needed

About the Role

Machine Operators play an integral part in maintaining plant success by providing coverage and support for various machine centers. This role offers opportunities for advancement into positions with increased responsibility. Georgia-Pacific is a leading corrugated box manufacturer located in a picturesque countryside across the Delaware River from Riegelsville, PA, with easy access to nearby towns.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets
• Monitor and/or enter data into computer control systems
• Troubleshoot equipment to optimize production
• Perform basic asset care duties, including routine preventative maintenance and cleaning of work area
• Work as a team to meet or exceed production, waste, quality, and safety goals
• Operate and/or work around mobile equipment

Requirements

• 6+ months experience operating production machinery
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety equipment
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day in a loud/noisy, industrial, high-volume environment

Qualifications

What will put you ahead:

• Experience using a computer, tablet, or smart device
• One (1) year or more experience working in a manufacturing and/or industrial environment
• Experience working in the corrugated packaging industry

Pay

Starting pay is $24.25 per hour with shift differentials of $1.50 for 2nd shift and $2.00 for 3rd shift. This role is eligible for variable pay, including up to a 6% quarterly bonus based on performance.
