Requirements
The right fit for this role is someone who is self-motivated and proactive, possesses a can-do attitude, has good attendance, wants to be challenged and is willing to learn new things, is able to make good decisions and adapt well to changes, works well in a fast-paced environment, is mechanically inclined, can communicate effectively with teammates, and can read and comprehend written instructions and units of measurement.
Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED is required. Three years of working experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
Skills
The ideal candidate will have the ability to operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets, perform minor machine adjustments, perform minor equipment repair, pack finished product, inspect and examine bags/pouches for defects and non-conformances, measure product to customer specifications, ensure proper packing quantities are fulfilled, work with the Quality team for non-conformances, troubleshoot a process or machine concern and communicate resolutions, accurately document and complete necessary paperwork, communicate with the next shift on special instructions, participate with peers and supervisors in addressing problem areas and operating procedures, and maintain a clean and safe work area at all times.
Job Details
This is a full-time, hourly position on the 2nd shift (2pm-10pm, Monday-Friday). The starting pay is $20.65 per hour ($19.00 per hour + $1.65 per hour shift premium upon transfer).
Responsibilities
The Machine Operator is responsible for efficiently producing a quality product to the customer’s specifications. The Machine Operator will also work on continuous improvements with regard to workmanship standards, standard operating procedures, and safety suggestions.
- Operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets for one or more machine styles
- Perform minor machine adjustments
- Perform minor equipment repair
- Pack finished product
- Inspect and examine bags/pouches for defects and non-conformances
- Measure product to customer specifications
- Ensure proper packing quantities are fulfilled
- Work with the Quality team for non-conformances
- Troubleshoot a process or machine concern and communicate resolutions
- Accurately document and complete necessary paperwork
- Communicate with the next shift on special instructions
- Participate with peers and supervisors in addressing problem areas and operating procedures
- Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times
- Perform other miscellaneous job duties and related functions as needed
