Machine Operator

About the Role

A well-rounded individual to work in a team environment, demonstrating a high regard for safety and efficiency. The position involves operating various types of equipment and processes, including All-Across-Perforating Presses, Roll Leveler, Tension Levelling, Shears, Brake Press, roll former, Surface Grinders, material handling, and secondary equipment. The role requires understanding quality operations, shop math, drawings, specifications, and the use of precision measuring instruments. You will operate different equipment based on shop load demand, exercise good judgment for planning tasks, and make practical decisions with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Follow daily planning and work schedules as defined.
• Comply with company quality policies and standards.
• Document required records and reports as directed by supervision.
• Perform duties as directed by the supervisor, including operating equipment and handling materials.
• Work from written and verbal instructions alongside the production support team.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and meet production deadlines.
• Maintain legible paperwork, such as inspection sheets, historical forms, and data collection records.

Physical Requirements

• Walk, move, and traverse the work area.
• Use hands/fingers to handle, operate, activate, inspect, place, detect, and position tools/equipment.
• Climb stairs/ladders or balance while ascending/descending or working atop equipment.
• Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to position oneself or move.
• Communicate effectively through talking and hearing.
• See to detect, determine, perceive, identify, recognize, judge, observe, inspect, estimate, and assess.
• Perform pushing, pulling, reaching, and repetitive motions.
• Exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects (medium work).
