Machine Operator
About the role
This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. It supports Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.
Responsibilities
- Support the daily machining functions of the team, including chip, coolant, and work-holding management
- Operate various machines as required, both NC controlled and manual, including saws, mills & lathes
- Prep and route material for machining operations
- Utilize and inspect components as required
- Support logistic operations for the team
- Support the buildout of infrastructure and process flow initiatives
- Partner with leadership to execute initiatives work based on organizational goals
- Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner
Qualifications
- Desire to operate and learn in a constantly evolving machining environment
- Demonstrated understanding on how metallic products are made, with a focus on machining and fabrication
- Ability to take on challenges with incomplete information and pivot to drive progress
- Demonstrated ability and understanding to operate machining and fabrication equipment safely and effectively
- Work well in a collaborative team environment
- Demonstrated ability to navigate and operate enterprise production software on computers
- Earn trust and maintain positive professional relationships
- Must be able to obtain certification to drive forklift
- Must be physically able to lift and carry 50 lbs
Desired Experience
- In a CNC machining environment, including the logistics of material flow
- Experience with operating CNC machines, including but not limited to saws, mills, lathes
- Experience inspecting components with hand tools
- Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts
