Machine Operator

About the role

ALPLA is a global family-owned, privately held company that makes innovative, customized, recycled packaging for top companies such as P&G, Unilever, L'Oréal, and Pepsi. This position involves overall line responsibility from production to packaging in a plastics manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Start and stop the machine
• Perform parison controls and monitor material control (weight distribution, regrind levels, watch tail lengths, etc.)
• Conduct regular quality control throughout the shift and visual quality checks
• Prepare machine for mold change
• Ensure goods are produced in correct quantity and in accordance with agreed specifications
• Accurately record goods produced and problems encountered during shift
• Perform line clearance and autonomous maintenance activities
• Assist Machine Operator II/Shift Supervisor/Mold Change Team with mold/color changes as needed
• Work collaboratively in a team to maintain efficiency
• Maintain good housekeeping in and around the machine and within the department
• Adhere to all ALPLA policies, procedures, and Safety Standards (OSHA) in a safe and environmentally responsible manner

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Technical/mechanical background in the Plastics Industry preferred
• Basic computer skills
• Demonstrated mechanical ability
