Machine Operator - 3rd Shift

About the role
The Machine Operator will operate blow-mold/PET/injection molding machines, grinders, trimmer machines, and conveyor systems. This role is responsible for troubleshooting process problems and performing minor maintenance to ensure continued operation of the production line, while following the company's Good Manufacturing Practices.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate safe work practices by wearing correct PPE and following safety policies.
- Demonstrate punctuality and adhere to work schedule.
- Work effectively with others in a cross-functional team environment.
- Participate in continuous improvement processes to drive change within the plant.
- Adhere to company General Manufacturing Policies and ensure compliance with corporate and plant safety standards, as well as applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free work area.
- Perform preventive maintenance, mold, neck and blow pin changes, and other mechanical adjustments.
- Operate blow-mold/PET/injection molding machines to ensure production of quality bottles.
- Adhere to quality control and blow mold process procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve process problems; perform minor repairs on blow-mold and support equipment.
- Conduct bottle inspections, including drop tests, quality checks, and audits of weights and specifications.
- Inspect bottle quality during production, packaging, and labeling.
- Make adjustments to meet product specifications.
- Escalate bottle abnormalities, defects, and quality issues immediately.
- Monitor and replenish supply levels of packaging materials.
- Handle dropped bottles by placing them into bins or grinders as needed.
- Ensure correct labeling, bottle description, and packaging according to customer requirements.
- Move finished goods to designated areas.
- Prepare and document daily production reports, including rejects, regrinds, line efficiencies, and other metrics.
- Prepare maintenance request forms and document equipment repairs.
- Follow instructions from Lead Operator or Supervisor on specific job tasks.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management; duties may vary by plant based on equipment and design.
- Reasonable mandatory overtime may be required due to business needs.
Requirements
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Basic computer experience.
- Blow mold experience.
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
- Completion of Altium Production/Machine Operator training within 90 days of hire date.

Work Environment
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts in a production environment.
- Loud noise levels in the work environment.
- Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas.
Pay
Targeted pay range: $22.07 - $28.22 per hour.
