Machine Operator - 2nd Shift 3:50pm - 12:00am

About the Role

The Machine Operator plays a critical part in the production process by setting up, operating, and maintaining plastic molding equipment. You will ensure machines run efficiently, products meet quality standards, and all safety protocols are followed. Responsibilities include managing assigned production lines to ensure product is produced in accordance with established quality and product standards.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate plastic molding machines according to established procedures.
• Monitor machine performance during operation and adjust as needed to ensure optimal efficiency.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
• Inspect finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
• Identify and resolve production issues in a timely manner.
• Check and maintain defined levels of all raw materials used in production on assigned machinery.
• Keep all assigned machines and areas neat and clean of debris.
• Evaluate and discuss the operation of assigned machinery with the Machine Operator from the previous shift.
• Operate and adjust production line equipment in accordance with established production standards; report any problems.
• Maintain appropriate levels of raw materials and notify supervision when replenishment is needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Complete required documentation accurately and timely.
• Perform preventative maintenance and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED preferred (technical training a plus).
• 1-2 years of related experience.
• Experience in plastics or packaging industry a plus.
• Working knowledge of computer operating systems.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Prior ERP experience, with Maintain X as a plus.
• Good communication skills and teamwork abilities.
• Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks.

Physical Demands

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, stooping, twisting, and climbing.
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Work Environment

• Frequent work in high, precarious, and/or enclosed spaces exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
• High noise levels requiring ear protection.
• PPE must be worn at all times on the production floor, including fire-resistant uniform, safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes meeting role standards.
• Machine Operators are responsible for providing their own tools; a list of minimum required tools will be provided upon offer.
