About the role

The Maintenance Machine Technician is responsible for high-quality and effective repair of equipment, working independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. This role involves troubleshooting issues, repairing failures of production and facilities equipment, and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. The technician provides excellent customer service, maintains professionalism, and ensures detailed records for time, parts, supplies, purchases, and repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and perform mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and CNC repairs, including replacing control devices, switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, and motor starters as needed.
  • Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments in a timely fashion.
  • Fabricate and modify new and existing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair defective equipment, including CNC machinery, presses, and plasma cutters.
  • Gather and maintain a complete set of required tools, including calipers, electrical meters, and other diagnostic and measurement devices.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and techniques to define problem areas and assist with resolution.
  • Recommend improvements and/or changes to PM systems/tasks when applicable.
  • Follow standard practices and all governmental regulations and laws relating to powered equipment.
  • Train team members on setup, lockout, and operation of fabrication equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and participate in safety programs to improve operational uptime and equipment life.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous experience doing maintenance on industrial equipment and strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Prefer background in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, CNC, and overall machine troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment.
  • High School diploma, GED, or vocational training/certification.
  • 3 years of experience in the same or similar industry.

Physical Requirements

  • Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy, and hazardous areas.
  • Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces, and/or other adverse locations.
  • Climb, balance, squat, kneel, and crouch.
  • Work in all types of weather.
  • Ability to lift, move, and/or carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb up and down and maintain balance on stairs, ladders, and scaffolds while carrying tools and equipment.
  • Ability to use arms and hands to reach, handle or manipulate, and install heavy objects and materials.
