About the Role
We are seeking a Machine Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team responsible for the safe maintenance, repair, or replacement of CNC Milling equipment or systems. This role ensures maximum production quantity and quality while supporting company policies, goals, and objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead a crew of 3-6 Maintenance Technicians for hands-on repairs to CNC Milling equipment.
- Report to the Maintenance Manager and organize a database-driven Preventative Maintenance (PM) program.
- Manage a parts stockroom to support maintenance efforts.
- Operate the database PM system with your crew and the maintenance stockroom clerk.
- Oversee maintenance activities, including repairs and PMs of CNC Milling equipment.
- Lead technician training efforts to build a world-class maintenance program.
- Develop and implement a Technician training program (on-site and/or off-site with OEMs, controls, tech schools, or trade shows).
- Participate in ongoing leadership training.
- Ensure maintenance is performed safely, timely, and cost-effectively.
- Conduct employee performance reviews based on job descriptions to determine competency.
- Ensure compliance with QMS, EH&S, and Lean/5S processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Positive leadership and high ethical standards in relations with personnel, suppliers, and customers.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Preferred: 8+ years of experience as a Maintenance Technician on CNC equipment (or similar).
- Understanding of Preventative Maintenance systems and experience administering them.
- Expert knowledge of CNC Mills, Lathes, and conventional machine systems.
- In-depth understanding of industrial electrical theory.
- Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
- Knowledge of appropriate safety practices and techniques.
- Expertise in pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical machine requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Due to U.S. export control laws, candidate must be a U.S. person (citizen, permanent resident, or protected under asylum/refugee status).
Work Environment
The role operates in a combination of office and machine shop environments, with potential exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and vapor from coolant. The position requires:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
- Use of computer keyboard, mouse, multi-line phone, and office equipment.
- Excellent communication skills in a fast-paced team environment with daily deadlines.
