About the role
GM Design Center Fabrication is seeking a Machine Corner Supervisor responsible for the CNC manufacturing of full-size and scale properties and components for Creative Design. The position requires oversight of a large 2-shift CNC operation, staffed with UAW journeypersons using Siemens NX CAD/CAM applications and CNC machining technology.
Responsibilities
- Understand and consistently administer the GM/UAW National and Local UAW Agreements.
- Develop, coordinate, and track the DCF property plan for all major property builds, concept properties, and fabrication requests.
- Manage an exceptionally high workload while being innovative and displaying outstanding initiative.
- Supervise a medium group of UAW Skilled Trades machinists.
- Use technical knowledge of processes and equipment in CNC Machining and Prototype Model Making to create action plans.
- Oversee multiple teams working on a variety of concurrent projects.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes to articulate and positively influence those processes.
Requirements
- BBA or equivalent experience.
- 10 years of combined experience with applied CAD/CAM technologies.
- Proficient in NX CAM, Drafting, Team Center, and familiarity with NX CAD.
- Experience with CNC machine tools and controls, e.g., HAAS, Fanuc, or Heidenhain.
- In-depth knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes and the ability to articulate and positively influence those processes.
- Excellent technical breadth, organizational, administrative, and leadership skills.
- Expertise in resource and workload planning, tracking, and reconciliation.
