About the role
Digital Consultants seeks a Mac Engineer to provide on-site enterprise Apple platform support to the Naval Medical Leader and Professional Development Command (NMLPDC). The role focuses on configuring, managing, updating, securing, and supporting Apple Mac devices and servers; developing new Mac infrastructure; implementing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides; and supporting migration to the NMED/MEDCOI network.
Responsibilities
- Use industry enterprise management tools to configure, manage, update, and support Apple Mac devices, including servers, desktops, laptops, iPads, and iPhones.
- Develop and maintain secure enterprise Mac infrastructure in support of migration to the NMED/MEDCOI network.
- Implement Defense Information Systems Agency Security Technical Implementation Guides and perform Information Assurance scanning and patching, including use of STIG Viewer.
- Apply Department of Defense Information Assurance and IA-enabled device configuration requirements to Apple systems and infrastructure.
- Install, test, evaluate, and support new versions and updates of Mac hardware, software, and operating systems.
- Diagnose and resolve highly complex Mac system configurations, operating issues, and error messages.
- Operate and support an Active Directory server-client environment for Apple devices on the NMED/MEDCOI network.
- Deploy new user accounts and machines and provide Mobile Device Management and asset-management support.
- Provide hands-on and remote support for Mac equipment, configure and deploy PIV-secured Mac laptops, and support Outlook, DoD Enterprise Email, certificate publishing, and printer setup.
- Coordinate with IT staff on quality assurance testing and production scheduling and attend Macintosh departmental status meetings.
- Provide clear two-way communication and keep management informed of technical plans, risks, progress, and completed work while ensuring full ticket resolution.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise macOS administration, Apple hardware and software, Mac servers, and enterprise management tools.
- Experience implementing DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides, using STIG Viewer, and performing Information Assurance scanning, patching, and secure configuration activities.
- Experience supporting Active Directory integration, Mobile Device Management, asset management, user and machine deployment, and enterprise Apple lifecycle activities.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve highly complex Mac configurations, operating system issues, software problems, and error messages.
- Knowledge of NMED/MEDCOI migration support, PIV-secured Mac deployment, Outlook, DoD Enterprise Email, certificate publishing, and printer configuration.
- Strong quality assurance, documentation, customer-service, oral communication, written communication, and cross-functional coordination skills.
- NAC suitability required for all contractor staff; CAC eligible.
- CompTIA Security+ or an equivalent certification required before accessing the network.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline; four additional years of directly relevant Apple enterprise experience may substitute.
- Minimum of 4 years of recent experience supporting enterprise Apple/macOS environments, including Active Directory integration, enterprise device deployment, security configuration, Mobile Device Management, and enterprise troubleshooting.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel to other worksites as required.
- With or without reasonable accommodation, ability to sit, stand, use computers and monitors, and perform duties in an office and technical environment for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion, such as moving Apple computers, monitors, servers, peripheral equipment, or a case of paper.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $110,000 – $136,000 depending on experience.
