About the Role

The Medical Assistant will function within the State of Ohio scope of practice to administer direct care to patients, operating under the direction of the provider, registered nurse, and practice manager. This role follows all policies and procedures for Mount Carmel Health System, Mount Carmel Medical Group, and department-specific guidelines.

Location: 237 W Schrock Rd, Ste B, Westerville, OH 43081
Office Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 5:00pm

Responsibilities

• Welcome and room patients, including measuring height, weight, and vitals
• Review medical history, chief complaints, and gather other relevant patient information
• Perform blood draws, injections, and EKGs
• Manage in-basket messages, patient follow-up calls, and messaging
• Utilize EPIC electronic health record system

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 1-2 years of medical experience OR a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in science/health
• Graduate/completion of a medical assistant program preferred
• Medical Assistant Certification or Registration preferred
• Graduate of EMT, EMT-P, or Military Medical Corpsman training preferred
• For MCMG: Nationally recognized Medical Assistant Certification or Registration preferred
• One to two years of medical assisting experience preferred (in lieu of required education, two to three years of previous medical office experience is required)
• Current BLS/CPR certification, which must be maintained
