At Saint Alphonsus Health System, we seek individuals passionate about exceptional service and high-quality care. The Boise Pediatrics clinic is currently hiring a Medical Assistant.

Position Summary & Highlights

This position works 1:1 with a Pediatric physician and collaborates with other MAs and providers in a care team setting. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements below to apply. Previous CNA work experience does not qualify for this position. See the Minimum Requirements for details.

What You Will Do

  • Perform rooming, collect patient medical history, and take vitals.
  • Administer immunizations and assist with minor procedures.
  • Complete point-of-care (POC) and other tests, and complete tasks and orders in the task inbox.
  • Work in a unique Pediatrics specialty where both the child and parents are typically present at clinic visits.
  • Enjoy working with children and parents, multitasking, and prioritizing effectively.
  • Be team-oriented and flexible, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment.

Work Schedule

36 hours per week, 4-9 hour shifts, Monday-Friday, rotating day off. Clinic start and end times may vary based on provider schedules and staffing needs.

Location

1072 N Liberty St., Ste 203, Boise, ID 83704. Located on the Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center campus.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
  • MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:
    • American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
    • American Medical Technologists (RMA)
    • National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
    • National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
    • American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
    • National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
    • New Graduates: MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours even with MA certification.
    • Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 Year of MA experience OR Current MA Certification OR obtain or renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
  • EMT and CNA certifications will not count towards an MA certification. Obtaining the MA certification typically requires completing an MA Program or working as a Medical Assistant for at least 1 year. See each of the credentialing organization sites for additional details.
