MA Boise OB/GYN Clinic Full-Time
About the Role
At Saint Alphonsus Health System, we are looking for a passionate and adaptable Medical Assistant to join the Boise OB/GYN Clinic team, located on the Boise Regional Medical Center campus. This position supports an established physician and works with a diverse group of providers, including OB surgeons, Gynecologists, NPs, and Certified Nurse Midwives.
The clinic offers a wide range of maternal and women's health services, from routine exams to reproductive health care, guiding patients from late adolescence through adulthood. We also provide a Unique Families Program for specialized care.
This role involves primary Medical Assistant duties, with opportunities to perform blood draws and assist RNs with patient calls. You may also assist in procedures such as colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, IUD placements/removals, and Nexplanon placements/removals. An ideal candidate will have a passion for women's health and experience in OB/GYN or family medicine, though other experience will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Perform primary Medical Assistant duties in a clinical setting.
- Conduct blood draws and assist RNs with patient calls.
- Assist providers in procedures, including colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, IUD placements/removals, and Nexplanon placements/removals.
- Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with adaptability and strong communication skills.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required at hire).
- MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following approved agencies:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
- American Medical Technologists (RMA)
- National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
- National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
- American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
- National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
- For New Graduates:
- MA certificate of completion from an accredited program or school.
- Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months of MA experience in lieu of externship hours, even with MA certification.
- For Experienced Medical Assistants:
- 1 year of MA experience OR current MA certification OR obtain/renew certification within 90 days of hire from approved agencies.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network (required at hire).
- Note: EMT and CNA certifications do not count toward MA certification.
Schedule
- 36 hours per week, 4 - 9 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with a rotating day off.
- Typical hours: 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, with flexibility to adjust start/end times to stay within 36 hours per week.
- Opportunity to work up to 40 hours per week when needed and approved by management.
- Shift start and end times may vary based on provider schedules and clinic needs.
