The Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinic is hiring a team-oriented and adaptable Medical Assistant for our clinic located on the Boise Regional Medical Center campus.
Our outpatient practice offers comprehensive evaluation and treatment for most emotional and interpersonal problems for adults. Psychotherapeutic and psychopharmacologic interventions are provided via a multidisciplinary treatment team. Through programs that treat patients with dignity and compassion, our patients learn to cope with life's challenges, return joy and serenity to their lives, and learn to live again. Conditions treated include mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and abuse, behavioral disorders, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, and developmental disorders.
Responsibilities
- Room patients, take vital signs, review medications, collect urine samples, prepare and administer injections, and coordinate patient flow between providers.
- Complete in-basket tasks, process orders, complete prior authorizations, handle patient phone calls, and manage referrals.
- Work with a team of psychiatrists, psychologists, and other clinical support staff.
An ideal candidate will be confident, able to work independently and in a team environment, assertive when needed, and have strong knowledge of boundaries. You will also be open-minded, compassionate, and non-judgmental.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required at hire.
- MA certification required within 90 days of hire from one of the following Saint Alphonsus approved agencies:
- American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
- American Medical Technologists (RMA)
- National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
- National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
- National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
- American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
- National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC, or the Military Training Network is required at hire.
New Graduates: MA certificate of completion required from an accredited program or school. Completion of either a 100-hour MA externship or 6 months MA experience in lieu of the externship hours, even with MA certification.
Medical Assistant with Experience: 1 year of MA experience OR current MA certification OR obtain/renew certification within 90 days from hire from approved credentialing agencies listed above.
EMT and CNA certifications will not count toward MA certification.
Schedule
36 hours per week, tentatively scheduled for Tuesdays – Thursdays, 7:30am - 5:45pm, and Fridays, 7:30am – 2:45pm. The clinic closes at 3:00pm on Fridays. Hours are subject to change based on provider schedules and clinic needs.
