About the role

This laborer position is responsible for clean-up duties and general labor on the production floor in a green sand foundry. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

• Ensuring personal safety and the safety of your team members. Assists supervisors and managers in maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
• Wear appropriate PPE which may include fall protection, respiratory protection, hearing protection, foot, hand, head and eye protection.
• Uses proper lifting and ergo techniques.
• Reads work orders or receives oral instructions to determine work assignments, material or equipment needs.
• Maintains cleanliness of the production areas.
• Uses a push broom, sweeps dust and debris from assigned areas and discards into receptacle bins.
• Shovels sand onto belts and from floor to an elevated bin. May also remove buckets full of sand from the work areas.
• Operate tow motor, skid steer, sweeper and related moving equipment to transport waste and product.
• Notifies supervisor of errors or equipment stoppage.
• Clears equipment at end of operating run and reviews schedule to determine next assignment.
• Maintains cleanliness of the production area.
• Proactively promotes The McWane Way Principles.

• Education And/or Experience: High school diploma/GED preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to obtain certifications to drive motorized equipment.
