About the role

M&A Attorney – Global Transactions Counsel (Remote / Full-Time In-House Counsel)

Latitude is partnering with a global, diversified conglomerate to identify an accomplished M&A Attorney to join its dynamic in-house legal team on a long-term contract basis.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate primary transaction documents and ancillary agreements for complex national and international M&A transactions
  • Work closely with the Division GC/Head of M&A on structuring and executing acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings
  • Provide guidance on regulatory and compliance considerations, including antitrust (HSR), foreign direct investment (FDI), and other cross-border regulatory issues
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and multicultural teams to drive transactions forward efficiently and effectively
  • Identify legal risks and deliver practical, business-focused solutions under tight timelines

Requirements

  • 8+ years of sophisticated M&A and corporate transactional experience
  • Experience at a top-tier U.S. law firm or M&A boutique, with meaningful in-house experience preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated experience working on complex domestic and cross-border transactions
  • Strong background advising on regulatory and compliance considerations related to domestic and international transactions
  • Significant drafting and negotiation experience across a broad range of M&A and strategic commercial agreements
  • Able to operate independently while collaborating closely with senior legal leadership and business stakeholders
  • Excellent analytical, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong academic credentials from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Licensed and in good standing in state of residence (or eligible for in-house exemption)
  • Outstanding professional references

Position Details

  • Role Type: Full-time contract engagement, with strong potential for permanent conversion
  • Initial Term: 9 months, with potential for long-term extension
  • Location: Fully remote (preference for EST)
  • Start: Immediate need
  • Compensation: The annualized pay for this position ranges from $175,000 to $195,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).
  • Benefits: In addition to pay, all Latitude Attorneys and other legal professionals working on contract engagements receive complimentary professional liability insurance coverage. All Latitude employees (including those on contract engagements) are also eligible for full benefits when working 20+ hours per week, including group medical, dental, and vision insurance, and complimentary group life, LTD and AD&D insurance. A qualified 401k plan is also available. Benefits-eligible Latitude Attorneys also receive a CLE and Professional Expense stipend.
