M-3/12 - 11607-1 - Network Technician

Description

Monitors, tests, maintains, and repairs network and infrastructure elements for Clemson CCIT. Monitors Clemson network, server, and application elements, resolves incidents and service requests, and/or consults with the subject matter expert team for incident resolution. Applies state-of-the-art technology to meet and improve the network control center. Control network and system processing. Respond to customer inquiries and alerts via emails, incoming calls, and walk-ins. Conducts routine inspections on equipment and reports any abnormalities.

• Other operational duties as assigned, such as meetings, project work, administration, and facilities requirements.
• Configures network and system resources and maintains corresponding system records and documentation.
• Provides Tier II support as per SME agreements.
• Performs periodic maintenance and monitoring of computer systems.
• Performs pre-configured port activations on network switches.
• Affords assistance with implementing network automation tools.
• Prepares and reviews documentation for use in operations for training and knowledge base.
• Participates in training and cross-training for Tier II.
• Provides customer service for all information and/or telecommunication network systems support areas.
