Responsibilities
- Responsible for the evaluation, administration, and oversight of evidence-based occupational or physical therapy services provided to individuals with Lymphedema.
- Use specialized skills to promote goals of prevention of dysfunction and restoration of function in order to enhance quality of movement and daily living skills for individuals with Lymphedema.
- Develops and updates appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family.
- Act in accordance with physician referral guidelines, state and national organizational standards, regulatory agencies, and established departmental policies and procedures.
- Embody strong customer service skills and communicate in a concise, tactful manner with physicians, co-workers, caregivers, family members, patients, and other healthcare providers.
- Supervises and guides the Lymphedema Therapy Services Assistant and physical therapist or occupational therapist assistant.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university approved by the APTA or a Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university approved by the AOTA.
- Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university approved by the APTA or a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university approved by the AOTA.
- 1 year MLD in direct patient care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS).
- LANA Certification or eligibility to sit for exam.
- Occupational Therapy License.
- Physical Therapy License.
Qualifications
