Lymphedema Physical Therapist, Day Shift, Outpatient Rehabilitation

About the Role

Adventist HealthCare’s Aquilino Cancer Center is seeking a Lymphedema Physical Therapist for the Outpatient Rehabilitation department. This role embraces our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental, and spiritual healing.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial examination and evaluation to establish impairment/diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care for patients with basic and complex rehabilitation needs in acute care, outpatient, or inpatient rehabilitation settings (flexible to work at any Rehab site as needed).
• Provide or direct and supervise therapy intervention consistent with examination results, diagnosis, prognosis, and plan of care, involving the patient/client and others in planning, implementation, and assessment.
• Reexamine patients as necessary to evaluate progress or changes in status and modify or discontinue the plan of care accordingly.
• Plan for patient discharge in consultation with appropriate disciplines, considering goal achievement and providing follow-up or referral as needed.
• Discontinue intervention when the patient can no longer progress or benefit from therapy, coordinating with the referring provider/team where indicated.
• Communicate, coordinate, and document all aspects of patient/client management, including examination results, diagnosis, prognosis, interventions, response to interventions, and discharge/discontinuation.
• Supervise and direct patient care activities of assigned rehab aides, office assistants, and volunteers.
• Manage schedule to accommodate fluctuations in census and patient load, informing management of any caseload issues.
• Attend team meetings and communicate patient status effectively, using medical records or other resources as needed.
• Participate in individual and assigned hospital performance improvement and professional development activities.
• Educate and consult with consumers, healthcare professionals, students, and the public regarding the purposes and benefits of therapy.
• Mentor and support students during clinical practices, focusing on patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited program or an educationally equivalent international program.
• Minimum 2 years of experience (at least 1 year in the preferred setting).
• Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Schedule

Full-time position, 40 hours per week. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM.

Pay

Pay range: $34.58 - $59.94 per hour.
