LVN - Float Pool - PRN
About the Role
Join Medical City Dallas as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) in the Float Pool on a PRN basis. This role allows you to deliver safe, high-quality care across various departments, supporting patients with complex needs and working alongside a dedicated healthcare team.
Responsibilities
- Provide focused nursing care for patients with complex needs, including administering medications, managing lines or drains, and assisting with interventions such as cardiac monitoring or respiratory support.
- Closely observe patients for subtle changes in status, such as shifts in heart rhythm, oxygen levels, or neurological signs, and escalate concerns promptly for early intervention.
- Document timely and accurate updates to support effective coordination among the care team in a high-acuity environment.
- Help patients and families understand complex conditions and recovery steps with clarity and compassion.
- Collaborate with RNs, providers, and specialists to stabilize patients and guide them through transitions from intensive care toward recovery.
Requirements
- Current (LPN/LVN) Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse license.
- Graduate of a Vocational School.
- Minimum of 3 years of recent experience as an LVN in an acute care (hospital) environment.
- Hospital experience is required.
- IV Certification is required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
