Lunch/Recess Monitor PART TIME

About the Role

Join Vanguard Classical School as a Lunchroom/Recess Monitor and play a pivotal role in shaping the minds of young learners. At Vanguard, we are dedicated to providing a rigorous education grounded in the Core Knowledge Curriculum Sequence, taught in the classical style. You will supervise students, ensure their safety, and foster positive social interactions during lunch and recess.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students in the cafeteria and outdoor/indoor recess areas.
• Ensure student safety and enforce school rules and procedures.
• Encourage positive social interactions and help resolve minor conflicts.
• Assist students with lunch needs (e.g., opening containers, cleaning up).
• Maintain cleanliness in the lunchroom and playground areas.
• Monitor and report any incidents, injuries, or behavior issues to appropriate staff.
• Support school staff during transitions and emergencies.
• Serve as a role model for respectful and responsible behavior.

Schedule

Our school operates on a unique schedule, with classes held four days a week, allowing for greater flexibility and collaboration among staff.

Requirements

• Provide documented evidence of identity and eligibility to work in the United States (required by the Immigration Reform and Control Act).
• Successful completion of a required criminal background clearance process.
