Lunch and Recess Paraprofessional - 3 Hours Per Day

Amherst Middle School is seeking a part-time employee for 15 hours per week (three hours per day) to monitor lunch and recess for grades 5–8.

About the role

Under the direct supervision of a certified staff member, the paraprofessional will assist with managing lunch and recess to provide a safe, orderly environment for adolescents.

Responsibilities

• Assist and guide students in following school rules and procedures.
• Provide supervision of students during lunch and recess.
• Assist with behavioral management to ensure a safe and orderly environment.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience working with children.
• Ability to carry out school rules and procedures.
• Ability to establish supportive relationships with students.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students and staff.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
