About the role
The Lumber Contractor Salesperson at PARR is responsible for executing sales call processes and strategies, focusing on aggressive prospecting of new residential and commercial contractors. This role is integral to supporting PARR's vision to be the supplier of choice for all building material products in the Northwest.
Responsibilities
- Achieve aggressive sales goals and objectives
- Work unsupervised and handle high levels of responsibility
- Prioritize work and manage time effectively
- Implement PARR’s sales strategies and processes
- Support PARR’s purchasing principles and protocols
- Aggressively pursue the company’s best interests when selling to customers
- Show strong interpersonal communication skills and experience dealing with customers
- Be flexible and adaptable to daily changing needs and demands
- Concentrate and attend to detail amidst a busy office environment
- Willingness to share department responsibilities to meet deadlines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2 years sales experience preferred
- Prior experience in the building materials industry preferred
- Flexibility to different personality types and work habits
- Knowledge of building materials and their uses
- Proven ability to develop relationships that translate into new business for PARR
- Knowledge of PARR purchasing principles, practices, and protocols
- Ability to meet or exceed aggressive sales goals
- Tolerance of co-workers and honesty in making mistakes
- Shoes that are puncture resistant, slip resistant, and made of leather or composite material
Skills
- Ability to operate personal computer, smartphone, scanner, and other necessary equipment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to speak, write, and read English
- Class C driver’s license with a good driving record
