LUBE TECHNICIAN / MECHANIC

Duties and/or Responsibilities

• Perform daily equipment, walk around and site inspections to identify and correct any unsafe conditions and keep equipment properly maintained.
• Safely and properly perform routine maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on heavy equipment.
• Dismantles equipment such as grease guns, air lines and lubricating pumps. Examine parts for breaks, wear, and dirt. Replace defective parts and clean and assemble equipment.
• Recognize surroundings including equipment and traffic awareness.
• Exposure to working conditions with various insects.
• Extensive walking on uneven surfaces.
• Operate equipment at night under artificial lighting.
• Communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written) and work with difficult people under high stress situations.
• Self-motivated, team-player with good interpersonal skills; ability to maintain positive customer relations and act courteous/respectful of others.
• Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (material quality, equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
• Ensure OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

• High School or GED plus higher trade or technical school or equivalent in related field.
• Mechanical experience - diesel engine preferred.
• Must be able to travel over nights during season, weekends and long shifts as needed.
• Must have a valid Class B Driver’s License, ability to provide and maintain proper licensure, medical card and acceptable driving record.
