Lube Technician

About the role

We are hiring a Repair Technician in Houston, TX. The position involves restoring, optimizing, and ensuring the reliability of engine-driven welding equipment and generators. Key responsibilities include repairing and refurbishing equipment, assembling various types of equipment, testing and calibrating machines, repainting parts, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Contributes to a culture of safety by following Airgas/Red-D-Arc’s health and safety guidelines.
  • Repairs and refurbishes all Electric and Engine Drives.
  • Assembles electric, diesel, gas, and propane equipment for rental.
  • Tests and calibrates machines to ensure they are ready to serve our customers.
  • Replaces defective parts and completes essential preventative maintenance.
  • Orders parts as required to ensure the team can complete repairs efficiently.
  • Inspects returned equipment to ensure proper operation and identify any necessary care.
  • Operates a forklift, pallet jack, or other necessary equipment to organize required parts in the shop.
  • Fosters a clean and organized work environment for the benefit of the whole team.
  • Prepares and completes documentation for all machine repairs.
  • Occasionally provides on-site service to support our equipment and customers.
  • Maintains open communication with all branch personnel.
  • Occasionally shares expertise with customers regarding the most effective equipment for their projects.
  • Performs field work as needed to support business goals.
  • Performs other related duties as a collaborative team member.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma is required.
  • A post-secondary education equivalent to a one-year technical college or similar background is a valued asset.
  • Experience with 0-1 years of related technical experience is preferred.
  • A working knowledge of power generating and welding equipment is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Possession of a valid Driver’s License is required for this role.
