LTCR Inspector

About the role

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks an experienced LTCR Inspector to join our team. This role involves conducting on-site inspections and investigations, including those involving abuse, neglect, and exploitation of adults and children with mental illness or intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Conducts on-site inspections and investigations at Long-Term Care (LTC) providers.
• Completes written reports detailing deficiencies and providing narratives to support regulatory findings.
• Ensures documentation is clear and concise; implements corrective action plans as needed.
• Testifies at hearings and court proceedings regarding investigation findings and compliance determinations.
• Trains new hires by conducting on-the-job training.
• Performs other duties as assigned, including on-call responsibilities.

Requirements

• Valid Class C (or higher) Texas driver’s license or equivalent license from another state.
• Four-year degree from an accredited college or university, preferred.
• Experience conducting investigations preferred.
• Experience working with individuals with mental illness, intellectual or developmental disabilities, or physical disabilities preferred.

Pay

$5,035.99 - $6,779.25 per month.

Schedule

Day shift, with occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work.

Travel

80% travel, including statewide travel, overnight, and weekend travel.
