This role includes assessing National Highways’ delivery of the outcomes and commitments set out in the Road Investment Strategy, and providing independent, evidence-based advice to government on performance, efficiency and value for money. Responsibilities

  • Audit and assess the performance of the Lower Thames Crossing and Dartford Crossing, focusing on outcomes for road users.
  • Lead the day-to-day monitoring of the operational performance of Dartford Crossing, including organizational performance against legislative requirements, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Performance Indicators (PIs), across areas such as asset management, environmental impact and network delay.
  • Produce robust, regular performance reports for stakeholders, culminating in the annual performance assessment.
  • Ensure the private sector organization is held to account for delivering its statutory obligations and agreed commitments for operation and construction.
  • Work closely with the existing Highways team, maintaining oversight of National Highways and assessing how performance interactions between the two organizations are managed and optimized.
  • Travel frequently throughout London and the South East.

The successful candidate will be expected to travel frequently throughout London and the South East.

Qualifications

Applicants should have a relevant degree and at least 5 years of experience in a similar regulatory or performance analysis role.

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and produce clear, concise reports.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in regulatory and performance analysis.
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrix management structure.

Pay

Salary range: £50,000 - £70,000 per annum.

Schedule

Hybrid working with a minimum of two days per week in the office or 40% remote working.
