About the role
The LSM Program Manager is responsible for successful program execution and serves as the primary liaison between Bollinger Shipyards and the U.S. Navy for all matters related to the Landing Ship Medium (LSM) program. This position requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of shipbuilding, program management, and government contracts to ensure seamless coordination.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the LSM program team to ensure timely achievement of program milestones and deliverables.
- Serve as the primary point of contact with the U.S. Navy for all aspects of the LSM program.
- Oversee cross-functional project phases involving engineering, procurement, accounting, and subcontractor performance.
- Develop and maintain program schedules, status reports, and risk mitigation plans.
- Ensure adherence to customer requirements, contract obligations, and internal standards.
- Direct, coordinate, implement, execute, control, and complete designated programs.
- Interface with customers and negotiate cost and schedule changes.
- Plan and schedule program timelines and priorities, including methods and procedures for implementing programs, and direct program activities.
- Provide direction and support to the program team and vendors.
- Monitor and report on program status.
- Present reports defining program progress, problems, and solutions for each phase, and initiate modifications as necessary.
- Facilitate open communication and collaboration with customers, subcontractors, vendors, and the program team while maintaining awareness of issues and concerns.
- Develop “Estimates at Completion” based on actual and projected costs.
- Coordinate regulatory and customer inspections.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Minimum of 5 years of program or project management experience in government or commercial shipbuilding environments.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Familiarity with U.S. Navy programs, government procurement processes, acquisitions, or contracting procedures.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
