LPN Weekend Program - Acute General Medicine/Telemetry

About the role

The Acute General Medicine/Telemetry Unit (5400/5500) is a fast-paced, high-acuity unit that cares for patients with complex medical conditions and multi-system health needs. Licensed Practical Nurses gain valuable experience managing a diverse patient population with cardiac conditions requiring telemetry, diabetes, renal disease and dialysis, pulmonary disorders, sepsis, and other acute and chronic illnesses.

Responsibilities

• Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; perform various treatment procedures; provide physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervise assigned team members.
• Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports, both written and verbal from/to appropriate staff as per departmental protocols.
• Ensure concise, pertinent and complete documentation using computerized medical record process.
• Ensure clinical areas are properly supplied and exam rooms are available and stocked.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Practical Nursing or equivalent required.
• Current licensure in State of New York as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

• Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills highly desired.

Benefits

• In addition to the Weekend Only add-on pay, employees in the program remain eligible for applicable premium pay (shift differential, overtime, etc.).

Pay

$27.00 - $33.00 per hour

Schedule

Full-Time Weekend Program (36 hours per week)
