About the role
The Unit Manager/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) oversees the entire operation of a nursing unit in a long-term care healthcare facility. This position offers a generous sign-on bonus of $6,000, payable over two years.
Responsibilities
- Hiring, disciplining, and evaluating employees
- Planning and facilitating meetings and committees to address resident care issues
- Managing the unit with the goal of providing high-quality care
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating programs for nursing staff
- Contacting physicians and ensuring timely interventions
- Maintaining staffing patterns and adjusting as needed
- Monitoring clinical operations and resident conditions
- Obtaining necessary medications, supplies, and medical records
- Orienting new personnel and guiding staff
- Participating in the facility's Quality Assurance program
- Performing other tasks as assigned
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a degree preferred
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), if required by state law
- Valid CPR teaching certificate, if applicable
- Three years of nursing experience, including one year in a long-term care setting
Qualifications
