About the role

The Unit Manager/Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) oversees the entire operation of a nursing unit in a long-term care healthcare facility. This position offers a generous sign-on bonus of $6,000, payable over two years.

Responsibilities

  • Hiring, disciplining, and evaluating employees
  • Planning and facilitating meetings and committees to address resident care issues
  • Managing the unit with the goal of providing high-quality care
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating programs for nursing staff
  • Contacting physicians and ensuring timely interventions
  • Maintaining staffing patterns and adjusting as needed
  • Monitoring clinical operations and resident conditions
  • Obtaining necessary medications, supplies, and medical records
  • Orienting new personnel and guiding staff
  • Participating in the facility's Quality Assurance program
  • Performing other tasks as assigned

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, with a degree preferred
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), if required by state law
  • Valid CPR teaching certificate, if applicable
  • Three years of nursing experience, including one year in a long-term care setting

Qualifications
