LPN - Surgical Unit

We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a high-acuity surgical unit specializing in digestive and trauma patients. In this role, you will administer medications, hang IV fluids, perform dressing and trach care, insert NG tubes, and care for ostomies. You will chart assessments, assist with care plans after initial RN assessments, and communicate with physicians to coordinate patient care. The unit features 43 beds, a patient ratio of 1:4-6, and a focus on critical thinking and collaborative care. Resources include full-time and part-time educators, nurse supervisors, a manager, and charge nurses. Skills commonly used encompass wound vacs, chest tubes, drips, various drains, IV and central line care, and telemetry monitoring. Qualifications include Illinois LPN license, Basic Life Support (BLS), and a college diploma in nursing. The role requires passion for patient care, strong communication, and teamwork.
