LPN - Stepdown (Advanced Care)

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a 24-bed Advanced Care Unit specializing in caring for acutely unstable patients who require frequent assessments and interventions, including complex trauma, sepsis, stroke, withdrawal, DKA, and seizure monitoring in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU).

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and manage advanced equipment such as cardiac monitors, IV lines, arterial and chest tubes.
• Monitor EMU patients continuously for seizure activity and communicate effectively with patients and families.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and uphold patient safety standards.
• Provide professional support and feedback to colleagues, participate in unit procedures, and adapt care based on ongoing evaluation.

Qualifications

• Current RN license, BLS certification, and ACLS within one year.
• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in acute or critical care settings preferred.
• Proficiency with advanced nursing skills and equipment.
