LPN - Stepdown (Advanced Care)

Role Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) collaborates with RNs to provide patient care, assisting with high-acuity patients and supporting with assessments, medication administration, and care plans. Responsibilities Include Administering oral medications, IV piggyback fluids, and hanging IVs (excluding IV push meds)Documenting patient assessments and updating care plans after RN-initiated assessmentsCommunicating with physicians and APPs to coordinate care and receive ordersPerforming dressing changes, trach care, NG tube insertion and care, and ostomy careReinforcing patient education and discharge instructions Qualifications & Skills Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) certification from Illinois Department of Financial and Professional RegulationACLS certification within 1 year and BLS within 30 days (American Heart Association)Minimum of 1 year work experience as an LPNProficiency in medication passing, IV therapy, and patient assessments
