Job Duties
- Makes sure the facility’s clinical systems are running smoothly to provide good care for residents according to laws, rules, and facility policies.
- Provides basic nursing care to residents as directed by doctors.
- Trains and guides RNs, LPNs, and CNAs to give high-quality care and services that follow all laws, rules, and guidelines.
- Checks on residents regularly to find out what they need and changes the care plan if things change.
- Works with the Director of Nursing (DON) and Director of Operations (DO) to solve problems about care or family issues.
- Writes down what happens during rounds and how residents are doing in their charts.
- Administers medications and IV treatments correctly as ordered by doctors.
- Monitors how well residents are doing and suggests ways to improve their care.
Requirements
- Current LPN or RN license in the state.
- At least one year of experience as an LPN or RN in a long-term care setting is preferred.
