Responsibilities

  • Provide basic patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, including taking vital signs, administering medications, preparing patients for exams, collecting specimens, assisting with procedures, educating patients on self-care, and documenting patient information thoroughly
  • Participate in the planning, coordinating, and documenting of total patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Accurately report and record the client’s condition and care, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change
  • Accurately monitor skin assessments with proper documentation and reporting of changes
  • Complete, maintain, and document accurate and relevant clinical notes
  • Ensure timely and accurate clinical documentation for all nursing clinical services provided
  • Participate in education, in-services, and other training and meetings as needed
  • Facilitate appropriate nursing action(s) in response to administrative directives and a changing healthcare environment
  • Ensure all MD orders are followed and documented accordingly during the assigned shift
  • Manage medication administration, monitoring, and proper storage of medication and comply with all medication management policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Mississippi
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a doctor's office as an LPN or Medical Assistant

Physical Demands

This job requires employees to have a full range of physical capabilities, including the ability to handle and lift patients, demonstrate manual and finger dexterity, and maintain good eye-hand coordination. Employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods and occasionally lift and carry items up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing within the normal range are also required.
