LPN - Primary Care

About the role

The ideal candidate will be a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse working in the Practice Setting at Oneida Health's TriValley Family Medicine office in Vernon. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse, preparing patients for appointments, coordinating with after-hours care, and assisting providers with appointments and examinations.

Responsibilities

• Preparing patients for appointments with physicians including gathering and recording vital signs and other medical histories.
• Scheduling appointments for patients.
• Coinciding with after-hours care and inputting information in the patient record and following up.
• Providing clinical advice to patients over the phone or by messaging.
• Aiding providers with appointments and examinations.
• Using a customer service attitude to attend to the needs of patients.
• Following the procedure for authorized medication administration and documentation.
• Performing treatments as directed including administering injectables.
• Managing clinic flow and ensuring patients are seen in an orderly manner.
• Maintaining patient records with superb attention to detail.
• Executing physician orders, scheduling follow-up appointments, and facilitating referrals.
• Communicating and collaborating with other members of the clinical team.
• Performing receptionist duties as needed.

Requirements

• New York LPN License (Required)
• BLS/CPR Certification (Preferred)
• Medical Office Experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Qualifications

• Associate Degree (Preferred)
• BLS/CPR Certification (Preferred)
• 1 year Medical Office Experience (Preferred)

Skills

Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and as part of a team are essential.
