About the role

A caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients under the supervision/direction of a registered nurse. Reports to the Director of Department to which assigned.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
• Demonstrate compassion, teamwork, and integrity in all interactions

Requirements

• Graduate of a Practical Nursing Program registered by the New York State Education Department or by the licensing authority of another state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire date
• Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required in critical care units

Physical demands

• Appreciable physical effort required, including moving, lifting, and assisting patients of varying sizes and physical abilities
• Frequent lifting, reaching, and stooping
• Required to be on feet much of the time
