LPN - Pediatric Home Health - FT Nights

Responsibilities

  • Administering physician-ordered treatments and medications
  • Providing respiratory support, including ventilator care and suctioning
  • G-tube feeding and care
  • Aiding with personal care and daily living activities
  • Supporting individualized therapy and exercise programs
  • Taking clients to school

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • If position requires IV therapy/management skills, must have graduated from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or completed an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing
  • One year of professional nursing experience preferred
  • Currently holds an unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges
  • Obtains and maintains required department specific competencies and certifications
  • Valid driver’s license required

Qualifications

Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse.

Skills

  • Knowledge of nursing principles for the patient in the relevant setting
  • Knowledge of medications and their effects on patients
  • Knowledge of patient education principles to develop a self-care program
  • Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe environment, specific to the home setting
  • Ability to administer a variety of treatments and medications as directed
  • Ability to document and maintain records
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, health care providers, and the public
  • Ability to recognize problems and recommend solutions
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and follow guidelines and procedures
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
