LPN Part Time

Pay

• Ranges from $36.50 to $39.50 per hour, depending on shift.

Responsibilities

Provides direct patient care in a safe, therapeutic environment for a specific patient population in a 24/7 psychiatric hospital that conforms to care and treatment policies and procedures and demonstrates knowledge of population specific needs and competencies.

Provides work direction to PNA staff, under supervision of an RN.

Maintains accountability in a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment.

Creates healthy interpersonal interactions on adult acute admissions unit, geriatric unit, and extended rehabilitation service unit.

Observes and reports feedback regarding interventions, treatments, behaviors, physical and emotional wellbeing, and other situations.

Documents and communicates.

Uses specialized training for promoting mental wellness recovery.

Prioritizes time to meet patient’s needs and provides direct patient care duties as assigned and when finished with medication administration.

Implements all individual treatment plans as written.

Administers medications, does treatments, and reports and documents patient education and response according to policy and procedure.

Qualifications

• Current LPN license that is eligible to be utilized in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Knowledge of illness and treatment modalities to include medication administration.
• Ability to implement nursing care plan and provide guidance to other staff.
• Ability to delegate and supervise nursing staff.
• Effective communication (written, verbal and sign).
• Ability to participate in interdisciplinary team.
• Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Ability to work overtime due to staffing emergencies in a 24-hour 7 day per week psychiatric hospital which at times may mean working a 16-hour shift if and when necessary.
• Completes all annual competency training to include TOVA III with physical restraints.
• Completes and maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers with the American Heart Association.
• Demonstrates knowledge of recovery/trauma informed care.

Additional Considerations

• Prior psych nursing experience preferred.
• Veteran or Spouse of Veteran.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
