The LPN Outpatient provides practical nursing support in a physician practice or clinic setting, assisting with patient care, clinical procedures, and coordination of services. Collaborates with healthcare providers and team members to deliver safe, efficient, and patient-centered care.
Responsibilities
- Provides practical nursing support under the direction of a physician or advanced practice provider in a clinic setting.
- Performs patient assessments, including vital signs, chief complaint, and medication reconciliation.
- Prepares patients for provider evaluation, including specimen collection, positioning, and assistance during exams and procedures.
- Administers medications and injections as directed by the provider.
- Documents patient information accurately and timely in the electronic medical record, including treatment updates, medication refills, test results, and patient concerns.
- Provides patient education related to medications, treatments, and follow-up care as directed by the provider.
- Assists with referral authorizations and pre-authorizations for tests and ancillary services.
- Maintains exam, treatment, and lab areas in a clean and safe condition and ensures supplies and equipment are available.
- Performs laboratory-related tasks as applicable, including specimen collection, preparation, and basic testing following appropriate training and quality standards.
- Performs radiology-related tasks as applicable, including assisting with imaging procedures and ensuring proper safety precautions and documentation.
- Adheres to infection control, safety standards, and proper handling and disposal of specimens and materials.
- Supports telehealth services, including tele-retinal and tele-dermatology setup as applicable.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required, or a new graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the Virginia licensure exam.
- Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Commonwealth of Virginia required.
- Limited Radiologic Technician license required for roles performing radiology functions.
- Current AHA BLS-HCP certification required.

Pay
$21.61 - $30.25
