About the role

Medcor is looking to hire a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Paramedic on a PRN basis (as-needed) to be an Onsite Health Technician in an employer-based, occupational health clinic setting in Kansas City, MO. The work environment is in a modern, global pharma facility, focusing on occupational health and acute/episodic care. The clinic operates Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm. This is not a full-time job; it is PRN/coverage with no guaranteed hours.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in daily operations at Medcor’s on-site clinic
  • Provide superior customer service to Medcor’s client and employees
  • Assessment and treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor’s Evidence Based Medicine protocols (Medcor Care Protocols - MCPs)
  • Build and maintain internal team relationships
  • Support for onsite employee health and wellness efforts
  • Conduct pre-employment and post-offer screenings
  • Documentation of care using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools
  • Case management and medical charting
  • OSHA record-keeping
  • Supervision and oversight for the Medcor clinic, including allied healthcare staff
  • Collaborative work with medical and operational leadership at Medcor and key contacts within the client’s corporate structure

Requirements

  • Valid licensure for the position (LPN or Paramedic)
  • Current CPR/BLS certification
  • Strong computer and technology skills (e.g., navigating cell phones, texting, fax machines, EMR software)
  • Ability to lift a 50lb emergency response bag
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive and outgoing personality
  • Passion for people and delivering high-quality care
  • Willingness to go above and beyond

Preferred Qualifications

  • Comfortable working in a worksite clinic environment
  • Relevant occupational health experience
  • Experience in emergency medicine or critical care
