LPN or Paramedic (PRN)
About the role
Medcor is looking to hire a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Paramedic on a PRN basis (as-needed) to be an Onsite Health Technician in an employer-based, occupational health clinic setting in Kansas City, MO. The work environment is in a modern, global pharma facility, focusing on occupational health and acute/episodic care. The clinic operates Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm. This is not a full-time job; it is PRN/coverage with no guaranteed hours.
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily operations at Medcor’s on-site clinic
- Provide superior customer service to Medcor’s client and employees
- Assessment and treatment of workplace injuries and illnesses according to Medcor’s Evidence Based Medicine protocols (Medcor Care Protocols - MCPs)
- Build and maintain internal team relationships
- Support for onsite employee health and wellness efforts
- Conduct pre-employment and post-offer screenings
- Documentation of care using state-of-the-art EMR and other tools
- Case management and medical charting
- OSHA record-keeping
- Supervision and oversight for the Medcor clinic, including allied healthcare staff
- Collaborative work with medical and operational leadership at Medcor and key contacts within the client’s corporate structure
Requirements
- Valid licensure for the position (LPN or Paramedic)
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Strong computer and technology skills (e.g., navigating cell phones, texting, fax machines, EMR software)
- Ability to lift a 50lb emergency response bag
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Positive and outgoing personality
- Passion for people and delivering high-quality care
- Willingness to go above and beyond
Preferred Qualifications
- Comfortable working in a worksite clinic environment
- Relevant occupational health experience
- Experience in emergency medicine or critical care
