LPN or Medical Assistant - 40 Hours Weekly - Family Practice

About the role

Essentia Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to serve in their family practices at satellite clinics in the Brainerd Lakes area of Minnesota, including Deerwood, Cross Lake, Pine River, Pequot Lakes, and Emily. The position works 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with no weekend, holiday, or on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Education as required for licensure.
• AHA Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months of hire.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Patient Care and Monitoring: Perform routine assessments, measure vital signs, record patient histories, observe symptoms, and assist in diagnosing and monitoring patient health.
• Aiding with Procedures: Prepare equipment, assist with patient positioning, ensure proper infection control, and support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures.
• Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications, monitor patients for adverse reactions or side effects, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans, assist in coordinating follow-up appointments, and make referrals.
• Patient Intake and Preparation: Conduct initial patient intake processes, gather medical histories, update personal information, and prepare patients for examination or diagnostic testing.

Compensation

$21.72 - $32.58 / hour.
