LPN or Medical Assistant - 32 Hours Weekly - Baxter Urgent Care

About the role

Essentia Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse or Certified Medical Assistant to serve in urgent care at our Baxter Clinic in Baxter, Minnesota. This LPN or CMA works 32 hours weekly. A $2500 sign-on incentive is available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Assists RN, Physician and other providers and provides direct patient care in the ambulatory care setting to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health.
• Performs identified procedures for which competencies have been demonstrated.
• Cares for patients ranging in age from newborn to elderly as noted on age-related category.
• Key roles and responsibilities include:
• Patient Care and Monitoring: Perform routine assessments such as measuring vital signs, recording patient histories, and observing symptoms to assist in diagnosing and monitoring patient health.
• Aiding with Procedures: Support physicians and nurse practitioners during examinations and minor procedures by preparing equipment, assisting with patient positioning, and ensuring proper infection control.
• Medication Administration: Administer prescribed medications, including injections and oral drugs, and monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects, ensuring accurate documentation.
• Care Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans and assist in coordinating follow-up appointments and referrals.
• Patient Intake and Preparation: Conduct initial patient intake processes, including gathering medical histories, updating personal information, and preparing patients for examination or diagnostic testing.
