About the role

This position provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse and works closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patient for examination by recording vitals, medical history, and chief complaint.
  • Administer injections, medications, vaccines, and IVs as directed by providers and within the scope of licensure.
  • Perform laboratory tests (including point-of-care phlebotomy, specimen collection, and diagnostic tests) as directed by providers and within the scope of licensure.
  • Communicate test results, follow-up instructions, and address patient questions and concerns in a timely manner according to clinic policy.
  • Respond to emergency medical situations in an urgent manner and perform on-the-spot emergency assistance which may include first aid and/or CPR.
  • Aid providers with examinations and procedures.
  • Prepare examination and procedure rooms with necessary sanitation procedures and supplies.
  • Assess patients' health status in person or via phone, and recommend clinic and/or ER visits as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with team members and other providers to ensure all patient-care and administrative duties are completed in a timely manner.
  • Travel to other clinics to provide support as directed by clinic leadership.

Qualifications

  • LPN with state license required; Current license to practice nursing in the state.
  • Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Ability to create a caring, compassionate relationship with the patients and families.
  • Ability to collaborate with the healthcare team to use evidence-based practice in providing care.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Good driving record required.
  • Current, valid driver’s license.
  • Completes all CEU’s as required by respective licensure.
  • Maintains an active and current license.
  • Works willingly and accepts assignments as given.
  • Attends all mandatory meetings and programs.
  • Participates in opportunities that enhance personal and professional growth.
  • Complies with the Corporate Compliance Policy and all laws, regulations, and Standards of Conduct relating to the position and agrees to report any suspected violations of law or Standards of Conduct.
  • Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations and JCAHO standards.
  • Maintains a safe work environment using safe work practices, utilizing standard precautions and complying with hazardous waste procedures at all times as described in St. Anthony's Safety Manual.
  • Maintains the confidentiality of patient, resident, employee and organizational information.
