What You Will Do
- Accurately completes all required clinical documentation consistently per Riverside Medical Group standards.
- Maintains documentation for quality assurance to include but not limited to point of care testing, medication logs and annual wellness visits.
- Works with providers to assure care gaps are routinely addressed with each patient. Documentation is accurate, legible and completed same day.
- Knowledgeable and skillful in lab functions and lab proficiency testing.
- Maintains excellent clinical competency by adhering to the standard clinical expectations for Riverside Medical Group.
- This includes updating, verifying, and maintaining patient records by properly interviewing the patient and confirming purpose of visit.
- Prepares patient for examination by obtaining vital signs proficiently (including manual vital signs when mechanical devices are not available).
- Prepare and sanitize exam rooms before and after patient appointments.
- Administers medications and vaccines under the supervision of a physician.
- Assists with processing prescription refill requests for approval and forwarding to pharmacies.
- Maintains medical inventory of supplies and keeps exam rooms stocked appropriately.
- Keeps any necessary equipment in operating order and facilitates preventive maintenance when needed.
- Ensures compliance with healthcare regulations with scope of practice, HIPAA, and OSHA standards.
- Completes all required competencies and education to maintain skill level to provide safe patient care.
- Provides patient education as needed and educates patients as necessary about the medications prescribed for them.
- Demonstrates positive patient care by explaining the importance of the completion of registration and patient medical history forms and how it relates to their care at our facility.
- Provides patient follow up with a sense of urgency regarding lab calls, patient phone calls, prescription fills and refills, referrals and appointment scheduling.
Qualifications
- Program Graduate, Licensed Practical Nurse (Required)
- 1 year Nursing experience (Preferred)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) Upon Hire (Required)
- CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (Required)
