About the Role
Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care under the supervision of person(s) licensed by a State regulatory board to prescribe medication and treatment, or under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN). Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care using the nursing process under appropriate supervision
- Maintain professional accountability for patient care delivery
- Coordinate patient care with other departments
- Uphold patient rights and confidentiality
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program
- Current LPN license in Missouri meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (or within 30 days of hire)
- LPN-IV Certification completed prior to hire or within 3 months (up to 1 year based on unit requirements)
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
- Significant bending, stooping, and patient lifting/turning with assistance
- Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
Schedule
Full-Time | 36 hours/week | Days shift
Pay
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $2,000 for full-time caregivers
